McDonald’s® awards employees with scholarships.

At McDonald’s, we believe in the value of a good education. McDonald’s Restaurants in the Charleston area support our employees who pursue their education. That is why we offer a $1,000 college scholarship in each one of our traditional restaurants in Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton and Dorchester Counties to employees who meet the established requirements. That’s over $25,000 each year in scholarship support for our employees.

What’s the catch?

In order to qualify for the scholarship here is what you need to do.

  • Must be a McDonald’s employee for at least six month at the time the application is submitted.
  • Must average 15 hours per week on the job.
  • Must still be employed at McDonald’s at the time the scholarship is awarded.
  • Must be a high school senior, a current or returning student attending or planning to attend an accredited institution offering post-secondary and/or career training and instruction.
  • Must submit a 500 word essay responding to this question, “How your job at McDonald’s has prepared you to succeed in the future?”

“But I don’t work at McDonald’s?” - There’s a simple answer!
